Construction and Income Projects
Posted June 19, 2010
Over the past year, support for the PT ministry, which is primarily from the U.S. and United Kingdom, has been under 50% of budgeted needs of US $2,900 per month. The current support of under US $1,450 per month has been insufficient to fund both the National Director's salary of US $500 per month and planned pastoral training conferences. With the counsel and support of the PT-Uganda board of directors (http://www.proctask.org/PT_directors.html) a decision was made to reduce PT operating costs where possible and to augment and stabilize the Twongyeirwe income by establishing family businesses.
Through prayer, the Lord moved through supporters in the U.S. and U.K. in 2010 to independently fund the following projects.
Please note that regular support for the PT ministry sent through IICC Worldview Center was not used for these projects. Rather, supporting churches took initiative to raise and send funds. If you are interested in contributing to these special construction projects, please do not send funds to IICC Worldview Center, but rather email PT-USA at proctask@gmail.com and they will send you the appropriate contact information from the supporting churches.
Project #1: A chicken business has been established on the Twongyeirwe property that enables steady income from sales of eggs and fryers. Funding of this business is now complete, thanks to support from the U.K.

Project #2: U.K. churches have sponsored the initial construction of the PT Center training facility, located a short distance outside Kampala. Eventual completion of this facility will save PT up to 45% of its annual expenses which are currently spent on renting large meeting places for pastoral conferences. Funds are still needed to complete construction.
Under the section to the right entitled "Multimedia", there are links to pictures of construction progress to date.
Project #3: A duplex on the Twongyeirwe property has just been renovated. It has now been rented to two Christian families. This is bringing in a steady income of US $500 per month allowing Julius to be less dependent on overseas support for basic family needs. Because these renovations have displaced the Twongyeirwe family to another structure on their property, several improvements to their current residence have been made as well. Funding still needed.

Project #4: A small building for use as a PT office has been partially constructed on the Twongyeirwe property. When completed, this building with save US $200 per month in ministry expenses by eliminating the need to rent office space. It will also serve as a place for short term missionaries to stay. Funding still needed.
